Commutative Property

2 X 4 is the same as 4 X 2 - this commutative property of Multiplication is super important for kids to learn!

There are several reasons to know this well. One, many a times, it helps kids convert an unfriendly problem to a friendly one (such as 2 X 9 to 9 X 2). Secondly, it also helps them distinguish operations like addition and multiplication (which are commutative) from operations like subtraction and division (which are not).
