Doubling Strategy

Doubling as a strategy can be a good way to derive some facts.

For e.g. 5 X 4 is nothing but 5 doubled, and then doubled again. While the initial could look daunting, doubling 5 once (and getting 10) and then doubling it again (to get 20) can be much easier.

To allow kids to think about this as a choice when they do harder problems, it's essential they learn how to double numbers in their head. Below is one of the levels that helps kids look at doubles more intuitively.
